jackass: The Box Set

One of the best box-set's I own, and it comes with almost everything you want. My review of, Jackass: The Box Set.

What's in the box?

  • Volume 1
  • Volume 2
  • Volume 3
  • Bonus disc
  • 48 page booklet.
Bonus Features?

  • An inside look into the world of Jackass with a bonus 48 Page book
  • Over 5 hours of never-before-released footage
  • Commentaries for all volumes
  • Gumball Rally 3000
  • Where are they now?
  • Jackass Cribs edition
  • Jackass VMA's cast appearances and much more!
This is a pretty good Box-Set of Jackass, however, there are just a few things that make it not so complete and kind of dull.

The box says unrated, yet you still hear every beep and blur effect, so it's rated, it's rated like how it was on TV. The set up is kind of crappy, but to me, it's better than the way they did it on TV, as there aren't actually shows, it's just all the clips they used in the shows. Each Volume has 100 to 93 clips, which is almost 2 hours of stunts, but its all very funny!

Another thing that came out is, Jackass: The Lost Tapes, which to me, should have been included as another bonus disc since, it's just even more stunts they didn't use, and more bonus features that should of been with the box-set but not.

All together, if you have the Box-Set and Lost Tapes, it is complete, it's just rated, kind of a bummer. It still is worth a buy if you like Jackass and are wanting to more complete your collection.

My current collection is.
Jackass The Box-Set
Jackass: Lost Tapes
Jackass 1
Jackass 2
Jackass 2.5
Jackass 3
Jackass 3.5

Another awesome thing is that a couple months prior to Jackass 3 coming out on dvd is that, they said they are going to begin filming Jackass 4 in March, and have it be the last Jackass film, supposed to be coming out in January 2012. Wonder if there going to do Jackass 4.5. Still to early to know.

I give Jackass: The Box Set. 8/10

Close Encounters of the Third Kind ( 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray )

One of the best Sci-Fi films I have ever seen, and now it's there's a 30th Anniversary Edition, on DVD and Blu-Ray, loaded with extra's and more!

What's Included?
  • 1977- Original Theatrical Version
  • 1980- Special Edition Version
  • 1998- Director's Cut Version
Bonus Features.
  • Steven Spielberg 30 Years of Close Encounters
  • Extensive Photo Gallery
  • A View From Above
  • Storyboard Comparisons
  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind Making of Documentary
  • 1977 Featurette "Watch the Skies"
  • Deleted Scenes
This 2disc set also comes with a nice big poster, on one side it has a timeline of all three films, pointing out the differences, and on the other side has a nice film poster. Also included is a book, telling you about the actors/scenes/background info, and more!. I picked up this a few months ago for only 15bucks, and the price is still the same, pretty good price, since you get three different version of the film on one disc! the 2nd disc is nothing but bonus features.

This same set is also available on DVD in a 3 disc set, one version on each disc, with the same bonus features. This collection is for you, if your a big sci-fi/alien film fan! Was very happy with all that was included in the set!

I give, Close Encounters of the Third Kind 30th Anniversary Edition (Blu-Ray)
9/10

Shrek: The Whole Story (Blu-Ray)

The entire Shrek films on Blu-Ray in a nice Box-Set? Well, This is one to buy, especially if you love the Shrek films like me. Everything Shrek is included, with only a few thing that disappoint, This is an awesome box-set.

What's included?

  • Shrek
  • Shrek 2
  • Shrek The Third
  • Shrek Forever After
Bonus Features!

  • Shrek- Animators  Corner. Shrek's interactive journey: 1.  Spotlight on Donkey. Secrets of Shrek. Deleted Scenes. Filmmakers commentary. Shrek Rattle & Roll Music & More. Karaoke Dance Party.
  • Shrek 2- Animators Corner. Shrek's interactive journey: 2. Spotlight on Puss in Boots. Secrets of Shrek 2. Filmmakers commentary. Shrek, Rattle and Roll Music and More. Far Far Away Idol.
  • Shrek 3- Animators Corner. Shrek's interactive journey: 3. Spotlight on Fiona. How to be green. Secrets of Shrek the Third. Shrek Rattle and Roll Music and more. Deleted Scenes. Worcestershire Academy Yearbook.
  • Shrek 4- Conversation with the cast. The tech of Shrek Forever After. The animators corner. Shrek's interactive journey: 4. Spotlight on Shrek. Secrets of Shrek Forever After. Deleted Scenes.Filmmakers commentary. Shrek Rattle & Roll music and more. Donkey's caroling Christmas-tacular. Shrek's Yule Log. and Many more Holiday surprises.
With all these bonus features, makes you wonder what about the other little things, that aired on TV.  Yes, it's only two half-hour specials, but it's still shrek, and should of been included. Just makes it not so complete. The ones I'm talking about are, Shrek The Halls and, Scared Shrekless. As well, these aren't all the bonus features. I own all on DVD as-well, and the DVD's are packed with more than what the Blu-Ray box-set gives you, which is kind of disappointing. Yet, it's still well worth getting, if you love the Shrek films.

I did read that with the blu-ray version, it comes with around 7 hours of bonus features, I did watch all of the features, and only counted around 4. Where's the other 3 hours? I'm guessing they might include the commentary as a feature to, so there's the other few hours. Slightly disappointed about that.

I give, Shrek: The Whole Story. 8/10

The Ultimate Matrix Collection -Blu Ray-

Alas, The Matrix has come out on Blu-Ray. This box set is truly awesome. This comes with everything Matrix. With over 35 hours of bonus features, spread out on 7 discs. You get, 5 Blu-Ray discs, one digital copy, and 2 dvd's of more features. If you are a matrix fan, you will need this in your collection. This same collection is also available on DVD spread out on 10dvd's, the contents are the same just on DVD, not Blu-Ray.

Case design- is awesome, you get slim cases in a hard cardboard case with the matrix logo on the front.Only problem is, that it's the slim blu-ray cases, not the regular thicker ones, so there kind of flimsy. With my copy, the first case is actually slighty broken, it's not able to hold the disc in place, kind of sucks.

Disc 2- The Zion Archive, Production assets developed for the universe of The Matrix, Including concept artwork, Storyboards, drawings. The Media of The Matrix: Music Videos, TV Spots, and Trailers. Also does come with a booklet that tells you what's what on all the discs. All together, this is a boxset that should not be missed if your a huge Matrix fan like myself.

Original asking price was, 100.00, which was what I paid, but now you can get it for alittle under 50.00. which is a huge deal. Well worth it.

The Ultimate Matrix Collection on Blu-Ray, 10/10.
